Privacy policy
How I collect, use and protect personal information on deftlygrowth.com. Effective 16 September 2026.
1. Who I am
Deftly Growth is the trading name of Deftly Limited, a New Zealand registered company operated by Liam McIlveen. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use deftlygrowth.com or work with me.
2. What I collect
Information you give me:
- Your name and email address when you contact me, book a call, or complete the scorecard
- Your answers to the marketing scorecard
- Business details you share during a call or an engagement
- Anything else you choose to send me by email or message
Information collected automatically:
- Aggregate analytics: pages viewed, referral source, approximate region, device type
- Server logs held by the hosting provider, including IP address
Analytics, where enabled, are configured with IP anonymisation and without advertising features. No cookies are used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
3. How I use it
- To reply to you and schedule calls
- To generate and send your scorecard report
- To deliver and invoice the work we agree
- To understand which pages of the site are useful, in aggregate
Your information is never sold or rented. It is not shared with anyone for their own marketing. You are not added to a mailing list unless you explicitly ask to be.
4. Processors I use
These services process data on my behalf, each under its own privacy terms:
- Netlify: website hosting and form handling
- Cal.com: call bookings
- Resend: transactional email, including scorecard reports
- Cloudflare Turnstile: spam protection on forms
- Google Analytics: aggregate site analytics
- Google Workspace: email and documents
- Anthropic: the model that helps draft your scorecard report, under terms that exclude your data from model training
5. AI and your data
AI is used throughout how I work. Two commitments follow from that. First, client and prospect material only goes into tools with contractual no-training terms, never into a consumer chatbot. Second, anything a model produces about your business is reviewed by me before you see it.
6. How long I keep it
Enquiries and scorecard responses are kept while they are useful, and deleted on request. Records relating to a paid engagement are kept for seven years, as New Zealand tax law requires.
7. Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can:
- Ask what personal information I hold about you
- Ask me to correct anything inaccurate
- Ask me to delete it, subject to the retention obligation above
If you are in Australia, the Australian Privacy Act 1988 gives you equivalent rights. Email me and I will action any of these. There is no form and no process to go through.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy. Data is held in access-controlled systems with multi-factor authentication. No system is perfect; if something ever went wrong in a way that affected you, I would tell you directly rather than wait to be asked.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated. Changes are posted here with a new effective date. Material changes affecting people already in touch with me get an email, not just a quiet edit.
10. Contact
Questions, or to exercise any right above: liam@deftlygrowth.com.
If you are not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand, or the OAIC in Australia.
